FERAX- Ferrous Ascorbate and Folic Acid Syrup

Ferax is a syrup manufactured by Pax Healthcare that is formed as a combination of salts namely Ferrous Ascorbate and Folic Acid. It’s a syrup that helps in the cure of anemia which is commonly known as a lack of blood or a lower number of red blood cells. It mainly occurs due to poor diet and sometimes due to pregnant ladies suffering from this condition when the quantity of folate is increased in the body.

Ferrous Ascorbate and Folic Acid belong to the class of ‘haematinics’. The medicine of this class specializes in curing the problems related to anemia. It works by increasing the number of red blood cells thereby increasing the hemoglobin. The medicine provides intensive benefits but sometimes the excessive use of the same will result in adverse effects.

• Ferrous Ascorbate

• Folic Acid

Ferrous Ascorbate and Folic Acid Syrup’s Drug Interaction

The medicine might react with the following drugs. Kindly tell your doctor if you are consuming any of it.

Anticonvulsants contain phenobarbital, primidone, phenytoin, sodium valproate, carbamazepine, antibiotics commonly formed with chloramphenicol, cotrimoxazole, trimethoprim, an antimanic drug that contains lithium, water tablet usually triamterene, anti-inflammatory drug that is sulfasalazine, painkillers such as aspirin and anticancer drug which is methotrexate.

Side Effects of Ferrous Ascorbate and Folic Acid

The aid also causes some side effects. 

• One might feel nauseous.
• Can feel dizzy all the time.
• May notice the changes in the sleep cycle.
• People consuming can undergo digestive issues.
• A noticeable change in urine color can be seen.
• The Color of stool can be dark after regular consumption.

All these side effects are very common and do not need any medical attention but if the person feels the major issues then a consultation with the doctor is recommended. 

Allergies 

There are no such allergies reported but if any person notices some uncommon allergies then reporting them to the clinician is a must.

The syrup is packed in a vacuum box that comes in a quantity of 200 ml.
