Simethicone & Magaldrate Oral Suspension IP is used to treat stomach upset conditions such as bloating. acidity, indigestion and gas. It is classified under the group of medicines known as anti-ulcerants. Excessive secretion of gastric acid can cause these conditions to occur. Stomach acid has two key roles- in digestion and in killing any germs in the stomach. The stomach secretes a mucous layer to protect the inner lining of stomach from acid but it gets depleted due to large amount of acid and hence causing heartburn or acidity.
